Ruth E. Richardson, 91, of Shullsburg, Wisconsin, died Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lafayette County Manor, Darlington, Wisconsin. Private family services will be at Primitive Methodist Church, New Diggings, Wisconsin. Burial will be at a later date in Shawnee Cemetery. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin is assisting the family.

Ruth was born on October 20, 1933, in Benton Township, the daughter of Percival and Gladys (Hocking) Bennett. She married Lewis H. Richardson on September 22, 1951, at the Primitive Methodist Church in New Diggings. They farmed in the New Diggings area. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2020.

Ruth will always be remembered most as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her kids and their families were her pride and joy. Her happiest moments were spent with her family and friends. Much of her time was devoted to cooking, tending to her flowers and garden, as well as blessing her family with a spotless, nurturing, love-filled home.

The way Ruth lived her life was a true testament of her deep devotion to her faith.

Ruth will always be remembered for her spirited personality. She was very passionate about things she believed in. She always managed to find time for a fun-filled day of shopping and eating at one of her favorite restaurants, which always included a sweet treat. Many special memories were made traveling with close friends and family.

Survivors include three daughters, Lori Rupp, Shullsburg, Sandra (Richard) Hoyer, Cuba City, and Dawn (Wally) Wolfe, Epworth, IA; three sons, Ronald (Gail) Richardson, New Diggings, Richard (Carla) Richardson, Belleville, WI, and Terry (Laurie) Richardson, Cuba City; her sister-in-law, Ethel Studier; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Richardson; her parents; three brothers, Lloyd (Norma) Bennett, Ralph (Helen) Bennett and Ted Bennett; and a son-in-law, Mike Rupp.

Lafayette County Manor was the last place that Ruth called home. During this period of time many new friends were made, including special friend Barb Pedley, who preceded her in death. The staff had a very special place in Ruth’s heart. The family would like to thank Lafayette County Manor for the loving care they provided to Mom.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials in Ruth’s name may be sent to the funeral home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.
