Jamie was born on April 19, 1961 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Ronald and Belva (Shepherd) Farrey. He graduated from Benton High School in 1979. Jamie was united in marriage to Diane Linden on August 9, 1980 at United Methodist Church in Benton. From the time they met, Jamie and Diane were together for over 50 years.
Jamie worked as a terminal operator at Flint Hills Resources for 22 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding his UTV. He especially loved hunting with his family and never missed events for his children or grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Big Boy”. He was a fan of the Badgers, Packers and WWE. Jamie had a tough exterior but was a teddy bear at heart. He would do anything to help others without needing recognition.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Diane Farrey, Benton, WI; three daughters, Tiffany (Luke) Saunders, Benton, WI, Tabatha (Mark) Wetter, Potosi, WI, and Trisha (Trevor) VanNatta, Cuba City, WI; six grandchildren, Alexa, Leyla and Izabella Saunders, Logan and Cole Wetter, and Cecilia VanNatta; three siblings, Connie (Steve) Kuhl, Hazel Green, WI, Cindy (Scott) Bartell, Benton, WI, and Jason (Amy) Farrey, Hazel Green, WI; his mother-in-law, Marita Linden; Diane’s siblings, Mark (Tina) Linden, Cuba City, Jane (Tim Woods) Euler, Warren, IL, Lisa (Chuck) Griffin and Kevin (Ann) Linden, both of Apple River, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Dale Linden; and his sister-in-law, Donna Linden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jamie’s name will be given to ALS and may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Croix Hospice, the UW-Madison Neurology Department, and Dr. Zachary Droeszler for their care of Jamie.
