Obituary

Phyllis A. Harwick, 84, of Platteville, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Edenbrook of Platteville. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at New Diggings Primitive Methodist Church, New Diggings, Wisconsin, with Rev. Bill Vasey officiating. Burial will take place at Shawnee Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin. A second visitation will take place from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the service.

Phyllis was born on July 9, 1941, in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Winifred (Raisbeck) Teasdale. She married Jerry Harwick on November 28, 1987, at the Benton Primitive Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2014.

Phyllis graduated from Benton High School on May 29, 1959, and later completed her studies at the Accredited Schools of Beauty Culture in Madison, Wisconsin, in July of 1960. She devoted 47 years of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Southwest Health Center in Cuba City, retiring in 2010.

She was deeply proud of growing up in New Diggings and carried that pride throughout her life. Phyllis enjoyed scratch-off tickets, bingo, a good game of euchre, trips to the casino and gardening alongside her husband. Some of her favorite moments were riding in her children’s cars—especially the convertibles—fishing with her children, and relaxing with an ice-cold Old Milwaukee. Sassy, strong-willed, and dependable, Phyllis was someone who always showed up for her family and will be remembered for her loyalty, grit, and love for those closest to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Mike Runde) Reed of Dubuque, Iowa; Amy (Roger) Dammen of Platteville, Wisconsin; and Laura (John) Strause of Shullsburg, Wisconsin; a stepson, Tony (Barb) Harwick; and a stepdaughter, Verlea (Paul) O’Hearn. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Brianna (Shawn Gille) Bresnahan, Jamie (Nikki Dreessens) Dammen, Emily (Wolfgang Mills) Dammen, and Sara (Tomas) Weber; and great-grandchildren Raelyn, Kadence, Lilian, Knox, Nash, Hannah (Bryce), Brookelynn (Paxton), Bailey (Tony), Dawson, Arianna, Nevaeh, and Adrian. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Bainbridge; a sister-in-law, Cheryl (Dave) Rollinger; and brothers-in-law Bob Roberts, Gene (Sue) Harwick, and Kenny Harwick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Harwick; her parents, Clarence and Winifred Teasdale; a son, Brian Teasdale; a stepdaughter, Kim Harwick; her sisters Muriel Roberts, Karen (Carl) Farrey, Barb (Joe) Murray, and Sandy (Jeff) Stoney; her brothers Keith (Stella) Teasdale and Gary (Grace) Teasdale; her sisters-in-law, Darlene Sigafus, and Clara Harwick; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Bainbridge, and Don (Ruth) Harwick.

Memorials in Phyllis’s name may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home, 123 N. Jackson Street, Cuba City, WI 53807.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Edenbrook, Dr. White, and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
