Benton, Wisconsin Philip L. Christensen, 77, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Benton where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Philip was born on November 19, 1937, in Bloomington, Minnesota, the son of Carl C. and Lucille E. (Berres) Christensen. He married Jean M. Carter on June 21, 1969, at St. Patrick's Church in Benton. Philip was a master carpenter with a masters degree in industrial technology. He loved woodworking and tinkering in his garage. Philip enjoyed watching CNN with his buddy and dog, Silas, was a converted Packers fan, and followed local and national auto racing. Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons, John Christensen, of Portage, WI, and Marc (Ronda) Christensen, of Mineral Point, WI; a sister, Claire (Donald) Langr, of Mason City, IA; three brothers, Charles (Mimi) Christensen, and Gene Christensen, both of Bloomington, MN, and Joe (Joanne) Christensen, of Holdingford, MN; five grandchildren, Kayda Marmes, of Jefferson, WI, Jarrett Christensen, of Fort Leonardwood, MO, and Jessica, Joshua, and Josie Swanson, all of Mineral Point, WI; and a special goddaughter, Ann Sissel, of Des Moines, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Francis; an aunt, Catherine; and his beloved niece, Nikki. A Philip L. Christensen Memorial Fund has been established with funds going to the Veterans Memorial in Benton.
