Kenneth was born October 6, 1941, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Urban and Bergetta (Folmer) Wedig. He graduated from Cuba City High School and went on to serve the United States Army and earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. On September 3, 1966, he married the love of his life, JoAnn Snyder at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cuba City, spanning nearly six decades of devoted partnership and love.

In 1966, Kenneth began employment at John Deere Harvester in Moline, IL, and proudly dedicated an exemplary 33 years of service. As nothing could keep Kenneth far from his family, he used his unmatched work ethic and entrepreneurial skills to buy rental homes and train his children how to renovate from floor to ceiling. In addition, Kenneth helped to form and manage multiple family-owned and operated companies, namely Cross Town Movers and Limelight. He also was co-owner of Ag-Compass with Evert Chambers.

Kenneth never lost his sense of wonder or his deep passion for life. Second only to his love of God and family were the many simple joys that filled his days. He loved to travel anywhere and everywhere, especially the cherished yearly road trips to Florida and Door County. He enjoyed countless spirited games of 500, found peace and pride in enthusiastic gardening, baking/canning, endless reading and learning, and faithfully serving his parish as a member of the Knights of Columbus and as a Eucharistic minister. Above all, however, his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was the family he built and the love he shared with them each day.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Wedig; his children, Eileen (Mark) Felderman, Davenport, IA, Eric (Gina) Wedig, Davenport, IA, Rachel (Jed) Thompson, Davenport, IA, Jacqueline (Thomas) Staley, Davenport, IA; his sisters, Kay Kessler, Dubuque, IA, Margo Lovell, Hazel Green, WI, and Dianne Kester, Overland Park, KS; his brother, Charles (Mary) Wedig, Falls Church, VA; 17 grandchildren: Jeremy, Aundria, Brianna, Austin, Jacob, Haley, Logan, Conner, Lauren, Paige, Courtney, Grant, Ava, McKenna, Gabriel, Maria, and Augustine; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ryan Wedig; sisters, Marilyn Wedig and Gloria Houtakker; a brother, Mark Wedig; a sister-in-law, Joyce Wedig; and brothers-in-law, Bill Kessler, Leonard Lovell, and Roger Kester.
