Obituary

Janis E. Ihm, 89, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, formerly of Kieler, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wisconsin. Private family services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Kelly officiating. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin is assisting the family.

Janis was born on April 30, 1937 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Earl, Jr. and Edna (Addison) Jerrett. She graduated from Lancaster High School. Janis was united in marriage to Leonard Ihm on June 28, 1955, in Lancaster, Wisconsin.

Janis was devoted to raising her family and loved telling others she raised seven “good” kids. She worked as a cashier and jack of all trades at Eagle Foods for many years, becoming a favorite of many customers. Janis enjoyed shopping, especially for shoes and jewelry, basket weaving, and time spent with her special friends in the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Janis was kind to everyone she encountered, and left a positive impact wherever she went, including at the Villa, where she made a point to reach out to other residents each day. Janis will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, bubbly personality and constant smile.

Janis is survived by four daughters, Rochelle “Shelly” Ewers and Rhonda (Dave) Groom, both of Platteville, WI, Carla Kinsella, Dubuque, IA, and Krista (Randy Hoppenjan) Ihm, Cuba City, WI; two sons, Richard Ihm, Kenosha, WI and Craig (Karen) Ihm, Benton, WI; a sister, Bobbie Bosworth, Minot, ND; three brothers, Dwaine “Buzz” (Nancy) Jerrett, Clete Jerrett and Keith (Holly) Jerrett, all of Lancaster, WI; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ihm; her parents, Earl Jr. and Edna Jerrett; a son, Reginald “Reg” Ihm; a son-in-law, Roger Ewers; a sister, Rebecca Jerrett; a brother, Darryl (Pat) Jerrett; a sister-in-law, Sandy Jerrett; a brother-in-law, Barry Bosworth; a granddaughter, Michelle Busch; and a grandson-in-law, Darryl Busch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janis’ name may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at St. Dominic Villa, the UW-Madison Orthopedic Unit and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care of Janis.
