Janet M. Andrews, 85, of rural Argyle, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is assisting the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at American Legion Post 214 in Darlington, Wisconsin.
Janet was born on January 28, 1941, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Christian J. and Viola (Komprood) Thompson. She was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1959. Janet was united in marriage to Harvey E. Andrews on February 12, 1961 in the West Wiota Church.
In addition to working on the farm, Janet worked at Beatrice Cheese in Monroe, Wisconsin, and at Dick’s and Piggly Wiggly in Darlington, Wisconsin. She and Harvey ran the Argyle Lumberyard for 12 years. Janet helped with voting and collecting taxes at the Lamont Town Hall for many years, and sewed with Backyard Babies in Mineral Point. She was a proud lifetime member of The Eastern Star since November of 1992. She belonged to Alpha Chapter 114 of Argyle and Shullsburg Chapter 30. Janet was a Past Worthy Matron for Alpha Chapter 114 and a Past Grand Marshal with Stars in Harmony Grand Family, May 2013-2014. She enjoyed traveling to visit the many chapters. Janet’s love of cooking and baking was felt by all, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved making each of them their favorite cookie and cake. Janet enjoyed sewing, puzzles and trips to the cabin in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Janet was an amazing woman, dedicated to her family, friends and faith. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Andrews, Argyle, WI; her children, Chris (Sheila) Andrews, Darlington, WI, Monica (Dave) Diercks, Guttenberg, IA, Blake Andrews, Darlington, WI, Jennie Andrews, Mineral Point, WI, and Eugene (Molly) Andrews, Darlington, WI; 13 grandchildren, Tiffany (Dan) Meyers, Alana (Brandon) Black, Tanner (Mandi) Andrews, Emily (Lucas) Doland, Brooke Stadel, Devon Patrow, Shawn (Skye Flynn) Blum, Logan (Erin Barrie) Bidlingmaier, Ashlie Baumgartner, Carter Andrews, Lydia Andrews, Allie Andrews and Camryn Andrews; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two siblings, C. Harold (Rita) Thompson and Linda (Chuck) O’Rourke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Viola Thompson; her parents-in-law, Harry and Jeannette (McKitrick) Andrews; a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bob) Belton; and two brothers-in-law, Gary (Joan) Andrews and Ronald Andrews.
