Obituary

Imelda F. “Mellie” Reynolds, 93, of Kieler, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Stonehill Health Center, Dubuque, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Monday, January 19, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kieler with Fr. Joseph Bellamkonda and Fr. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center on Sunday, January 18 from 1-5:00 p.m., and on Monday, January 19 from 10-11:45 a.m. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin is assisting the family.

Mellie was born on March 24, 1932, in Paris Township, the daughter of Clarence and Adeline (Schroeder) Wallenhorst. She met Francis Reynolds and married him on May 18, 1954, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1986.

Mellie was the owner of Mellie’s Cakes, a home licensed bakery in Wisconsin for 47 years. She also worked for 36 years as the head cook at Immaculate Conception School in Kieler. Before that she worked as the school custodian. She loved baking, gardening, spending time with her family, the Christmas season, ceramics, quilting, embroidery, and other crafts. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.

Mellie is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Williams, Rewey, WI; four sons, Thomas (Cathy), Cherry Valley, IL, David, Kieler, WI, Richard, Freeport, IL, and Paul (Karen), Hazel Green, WI; a son-in-law, Ken Leibfried, Hazel Green, WI; three sisters, Doris Bussan and Mary Ann Sabers, both of Dubuque, IA, and Janet Macaluso, formerly of Dickeyville; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Wallenhorst and Gloria Wallenhorst, both of Cuba City, WI; fifteen grandchildren, Craig (Lisa) Hale, Michael, Cassandra (Isaac) Okey, Christian, Renae, Eric, Jennifer, Angela (Tim) Hahn, April (Abram) Clark, Adam (Brittney) Williams, Steven, Alyssa, Susan (Jeff) Roy, Scott (Maggie), and Staci. She has twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sons, John and Daniel; a daughter, Lois Leibfried; her parents, Clarence and Adeline Wallenhorst; her in-laws, Paul and Edna Reynolds; her brothers, Norbert, Vincent, Clarence Jr., Merlin and Richard; her sisters, Bernadette and Delores; her brothers-in-law, Walter Obershaw, Robert Klein, James Bussan, John “Jack” Sabers, Tony Macaluso, Sherman Knutson, Eugene Reynolds and Edward Reynolds; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Wallenhorst, Pat Wallenhorst, Sue Wallenhorst, Kate Reynolds, Ruth Knutson and Linda Reynolds, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Imelda’s name may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill in Dubuque and Hospice of Dubuque for their care.
