Obituary

Geralynn I. “Jeri” Lyons, 84, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cuba City, Wisconsin. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin where there will be a Parish Scripture Wake Service at 2:30 p.m., and a second visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at the church prior to the service.

Jeri was born on October 24, 1941, in Dickeyville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ervin and Pauline (Droessler) Schroeder. In 1959, she graduated from Cuba City High School. Jeri was united in marriage to Michael Lyons on April 12, 1969 at Holy Ghost Church, Dickeyville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2012.

Jeri dedicated herself to raising her children prior to working at the Cuba City Post Office for 26 years. Jeri loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the Badgers, Packers and Cuba City High School teams. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Jeri was a faithful member of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of both the parish council and Rosary prayer group. She also volunteered at the Cuba City Meal Site. Jeri enjoyed baking, assembling jigsaw puzzles, reading and feeding the birds. She cherished time spent on her front porch, especially when visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Bridgitt (Steve) Zielke, of Kohler, WI, Brent (Sally) Lyons, of Dickeyville, WI and Heidi (Steve) Staskal, of Livingston, WI; a stepson, Mike (Helene) Lyons, Jr., Oberthal, Germany; a daughter-in-law, Tracy Lyons, Cuba City, WI; a former daughter-in-law, Susi Lyons Deminger, Pohlheim, Germany; three brothers, Steve (Mara) Schroeder, Dickeyville, WI, Tom (friend, Gail Fritschler) Schroeder, Cadott, WI, and Joe (Donna) Schroeder, Cuba City, WI; five sisters, Sr. Deanna Schroeder, Milwaukee, WI, Susan (Don) Barth, Cuba City, WI, Ruth (Tom) Kieler and Rose (Doug) Rouse, both of Platteville, WI, and Shirley (Lee) Millman, Potosi, WI; a brother-in-law, Tom Kaiser, Dubuque, IA; sisters-in-law, Delia Schroeder, Dickeyville, WI and Michelle Schroeder, Cuba City, WI; nine grandchildren, Natascha, Mackenzie and Leon Lyons, Cecelia and Cooper Zielke, Justin (Hannah) and Madalyn Lyons, Gracie Staskal, and Jon Lyons; a step-granddaughter, Katlynn Templeton; and 4 great-grandchildren, Graham, Michael, Casey and Ruby Lyons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Lyons; her son, Eric Lyons; her parents; a brother, Gene Schroeder; two sisters, Judy (Walter) Riniker and Mary Kaiser; and a sister-in-law, Marsha Schroeder.
