Carroll and Judy recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with friends and family.
Carroll D. “Hermy” Hermanson, 82, of Donna, Texas, formerly of Benton, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Church, Benton, Wisconsin, with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will follow after the service in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Saturday, October 10, at the church prior to the service. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, WI is assisting the family.
Carroll was born on May 21, 1944, in Monroe, Wisconsin, the son of Milton and Edna (Christianson) Hermanson. He attended South Wayne High School, graduating in 1962. Carroll was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Kartman on September 24, 1966 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cassville, WI. Carroll and Judy recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with friends and family.
After high school, Carroll enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany until February 1966. He worked in the data processing field for various companies in Dubuque, IA before retiring from Hormel Foods in 2006. Carroll was a member of the Benton Fire Department, the Izaak Walton League, and the Old Timers Slow Pitch Team.
After retirement, Carroll and Judy spent their time traveling extensively both internationally and around the US to visit their children and grandchildren. They always found ways to keep busy by volunteering at local parks. In 2021, they parked the trailer and purchased a home in Donna, TX, where they have enjoyed the last 5 years making new friends.

Carroll is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Kevin (Kris) Hermanson of Oregon, WI, Nikki (Armando) Abarca, of El Paso, TX, and Janna (Tom) Norby of Ennis, MT and grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Victoria, Owen, and Armando.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Hermanson; his parents, Milton and Edna; and his siblings Harold, Ruth Saunders, John, Buddy, Charles, and Judy Butler and their spouses.
Memorials in Carroll’s name may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home at 123 N Jackson St, Cuba City, WI 53807. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Benton Fire Department, Benton First Responders, St. Patrick’s Church, and Badger Honor Flight are appreciated.
