Obituary

Barbara A. “Barb” Mayne, 69, of Mount Hope, Wisconsin, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12-3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Mount Hope Park, Mount Hope, Wisconsin.

Barb was born on September 18, 1956 in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Ronald and Lois (Wickler) McNett. She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1974. Barb was united in marriage to Frederick “Fred” Mayne on May 10, 1975, at Fennimore United Methodist Church.

Barb worked in accounting for a trucking firm and an insurance company. She loved cats, crocheting, reading on her Kindle, and spending time at the beach, especially in St. Petersburg. She and Fred enjoyed traveling to Florida and, early in their marriage, taking many semi-truck rides together. Barb treasured time with her children and grandchildren. She and Ben often stayed up late sharing stories while playing cards, and she and Amanda enjoyed shopping, lunch outings, and cooking together. Barb will be remembered for her strong-willed, down-to-earth nature.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Mayne, Mount Hope, WI; two children, Ben (Alex Opgenorth) Mayne, Watertown, WI and Amanda (Dan) Halvorson, Newburg, WI; a brother, Jon (Stephanie) McNett, Litchfield, IL; a sister-in-law, Deb McNett, Monument, CO; five grandchildren, Ariel Fritchie, Dylan Mayne, and Brady, Spencer and Aidan Campbell; one nephew; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ron McNett. Jr.

Memorials in Barbara’s name may be sent to Casey-McNett Funeral Home at 123 N. Jackson St., Cuba City, WI 53807.
