Barbara J. Hammer, 71, of Cassville, Wisconsin, formerly of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, Wisconsin. If you are so inclined, wear your John Deere green attire to honor Barb.

Barbara was born on August 22, 1955, in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of Loren and Hazel (Richardson) Hammer. She graduated from Benton High School in 1973. Barbara earned degrees in music education and elementary education from UW-Platteville.

Barbara worked in education before beginning her career at Walmart in Platteville, where she worked for over 40 years. She was an avid horse enthusiast and enjoyed raising blue heeler puppies. Barbara loved craft shows and crafting, including ceramics, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She often donated her handmade items to those in need. Barbara will be remembered for her positive nature and generosity.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Barry (Teresa) Hammer, Cassville, WI; a nephew, Colton Hammer; and a special little niece, Aubrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Hazel Hammer.
